OTTAWA, Aug. 22 — Databeacon Inc. has announced that its recently released Databeacon Collaboration Edition supports the Linux operating system. The new release gives Linux-based organizations the ability to publish and disseminate interactive Web reports and data analysis via Intranets, extranets or the public Internet without the need to install software or take training.

An e-mail sent from the Databeacon Insight viewer activates a self-defined workgroup. E-mail recipients click on an "Analyze Report" link and can continue to analyze interactively and visualize Web reporting data within their own Databeacon Insight viewer, which is loaded automatically in their browser. They are then able to add their own Web reports to share within the workgroup as needed.

Pricing for Databeacon Collaboration starts at $5,000 for a five-user licence. Databeacon's more common unlimited user/Web server pricing starts at $25,000 per processor for Databeacon Collaboration Edition, and $10,000 per processor for Databeacon PageEnhancer API.

In addition to Linux, Databeacon Collaboration Edition is also available for Windows 95, 98, NT, Millenium, 2000 and XP; Unix AIX, HP-UX and Solaris; standard Web servers with CGI support such as Apache 2.0+ or MS IIS 4+; and MS Internet Explorer 5.0+ and Netscape Navigator 4.7+ Web browsers.
