Architecture
At the heart of Databeacon
is the Client OLAP Reporting Environment, or CORE. Included in all products,
CORE supports the creation and design of OLAP cubes, self-serve explorable
reports, and no-touch smart client deployments.
The Databeacon Business Analytics process has four steps.
- Publish – Easily define a multidimensional layout or CORE
cube profile, mapping hierarchies and category query needs to the data
source
(standard RDBMS via ODBC or JDBC, text files, URL or executable output).
- Build – Extract and transform data according to a CORE cube profile
and build a CORE cube, a highly compressed aggregated data file for
deployment on the Web server. Builds run at 10,000 to 25,000 rows/sec
and compress
data into a very small footprint, enabling fast data transfers to
the user’s PC for ongoing analytical processing.
- Deploy – Move the CORE cube to a Web server for users to
access by simply clicking on a link.
- View – Databeacon viewers
automatically download to the client PC, enabling users to view the
CORE cubes, create personalized
explorable reports, and collaborate on findings with others. Users,
without need of training, interactively and graphically analyze data
that might
otherwise take multiple spreadsheets or fill hundreds of pages in
a traditional static report.
Databeacon CORE components are highly parameterized, and while normally
part of a scheduled process, can be dynamically executed under program
control at the request of an individual viewer, delivering real-time
results in a true "customer-of-one" fashion. Databeacon utilizes next generation technology to view
and analyze explorable reports at the user’s PC. Databeacon’s
architecture delivers massive scalability and low Total Cost of Ownership
(TCO) with applications
that utilize no-touch deployment of both data and software to take advantage
of each user’s powerful desktop PC.
