Databeacon Inks Six New ISV Partners
Databeacon Inc. announces six new ISV partnerships, including one with basys, inc., headquartered in Linthicum, MD. Focused on the employee benefit plan administration industry, basys solutions are currently used by more than 1,500 benefit plans within the U.S. and Canada. In addition to basys, Databeaconís five other new ISV partners include Elsinore Technologies, Inc., Datex, Relational Solutions Inc., Skywire Software, and Informediate Inc. Databeacon offers ISV partners and their customers self-serve, interactive reporting and data analysis capabilities.

IBM And IBS Expand Global Alliance
IBM and International Business Systems (IBS) announce an expansion of their global strategic alliance to provide fully integrated and consolidated supply chain solutions to help medium-sized companies lower costs, improve supply chain efficiency and increase profitability. As part of the extended agreement, IBM and IBS will jointly market and sell solutions to target segments and customers worldwide. IBM's worldwide sales force will market the combined offering, further extending IBSí market reach. IBM will also have dedicated consultants to support application development, testing, optimization, tuning and other development activities. IBS will work closely with IBM Global Services and IBM Global Financing in selected marketing and sales activities.

CBM America Signs Tech Data As Distributor
CBM America Corporation has entered into a wholesale distribution agreement with Tech Data Corporation. Under the agreement, Tech Data Corporation will serve as one of the company's distributors for CBMís point-of-sale printers and wireless mobile printers. A wholly independent U.S. corporation, CBM America Corporation is the exclusive sales and marketing agent for Japan CBM Corporation, a global leader in the production of mini-printers and consumer electronics.

Application Security Launches Federal Reseller Program
Application Security Inc. has launched a federal reseller program to offer government and civilian agencies its best-of-breed database security solutions. The first three authorized resellers to join AppSecís program are iQuest Solutions, Data Safe Services, and Sword & Shield, who are all established in servicing the federal sector and offering solutions. The government can now utilize the AppSec Federal Reseller program and channel to purchase solutions that will proactively secure their applications by discovering, assessing, and protecting databases against rapidly changing security threats. Fujitsu Completes Acquisition Of Optimal Roboticsí Self-Checkout Business
Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. has completed its acquisition of the Optimal Roboticsí self-checkout business for $35 million in cash and an assumption of liabilities. The acquisition includes self-checkout systems and related services marketed by Montreal-based Optimal under the U-Scan brand. According to a recent report from IHL Consulting Group, U-Scan systems account for about 40 percent of the self-checkout lanes in North America. The acquisition enables Fujitsu to offer self-checkout solutions to grocery retailers of all sizes, as well as to large non-food retailers. StoreNext Retail Technologies LLC, a 50/50 joint venture between Fujitsu and Retalix Ltd., will also offer self-checkout solutions to independent grocers and small chains through its dealer network.
